Calcium alginate caged graphene oxide functionalized with metformin (Alg@ GMet) forming beads is used to investigate the removal from aqueous solutions, both for As(III) and (V) [42]. Best removal rate depended on the arsenic oxidations state: (i) in the (III) state maximum loading resulted in pH values of 2-6, being H 3 AsO 3 the loaded arsenic species, (ii) arsenic(V) is loaded at pH values in the 2-4 range, being H2AsO4-the species removed from the solution.…”
