Alkalinity and Hardness: Critical but Elusive Concepts in Aquaculture

Abstract: Total alkalinity and total hardness are familiar variables in aquatic animal production. Aquaculturists—both scientists and practitioners alike—have some understanding of the two variables and of methods for adjusting their concentrations.
