Abstract:An electrochemical protocol for the alkylthiolation of aryl halides was developed. By using dialkyl disulfides as the alkylthio sources, Mg plate as the sacrificial anode and graphite felt (GF) as the cathode, a series of aryl sulfides were obtained in moderate to good yields. The approach was also suitable for the synthesis of aryl selenides.
