Abstract:Transdermal buprenorphine (TDB) is a widely used analgesic for moderate pain. TDB is generally well tolerated, but both irritant and allergic contact dermatitis occur at patch application sites. Oral opioid tolerance in patients with allergic contact dermatitis to TDB remains controversial.
