Abstract:The fabrication and characterization of an ammonia (NH3) gas optical sensor based on Lossy Mode Resonances (LMR) is presented in this work. A chromium (III) oxide (Cr2O3) thin film deposited onto a planar waveguide was used as LMR supporting coating. The obtained LMR shown a maximum attenuation wavelength or resonance wavelength centred in 673 nm. The optical properties of the coating can be modified as a function of the presence and concentration of NH3 in the external medium. Consequently, the refractive ind… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
