Amoebic Colitis Presenting as Subacute Intestinal Obstruction with Perforation

Abstract: Infestation with Entamoeba histolytica is worldwide, especially in developing areas. Presented case study included amoebic colitis in a 45 years old man complaining of abdominal distension and non-passage of stools since three days. Abdominal region was diffusely distended and tender in right iliac fossa. Plain abdominal radiography revealed prominent gut loops and minimal intergut free fluid.
