An analytical approach for the operation of series compensators to relieve power flow congestion

Abstract: This paper describes an analytical approach for the operation of series compensators to relieve power flow congestion. The flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices such as thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC) and static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) can control power flow in the line by varying reactive line impedances.
