Abstract:Cilostazol (CLZ) is a quinolinone derivative possessing anti platelet and vasodilating properties and it is used in the treatment of intermittent claudication. It operates by inhibiting the cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) dependent phosphodiesterase III which leads to availability of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in blood vessels and platelets owing to vasodilation and reduced calcium-induced contractions.
