An apparatus for acquiring vapour mixture adsorption equilibrium data of strongly adsorbable compounds

Abstract

Industrial adsorbers are usually employed to separate mixtures of strongly adsorbable compounds. To design such absorption separation units properly, experimental data referring to the multicomponent adsorption equilibria are necessary. The devices usually utilized to acquire multicomponent data of weakly adsorbable gases are quite expensive, and they cannot easily give reliable results when dealing with strongly adsorbable compounds. An inexpensive and reliable experimental procedure is presented, and its performance discussed.
