An approach to agent-based service composition and its application to mobile business processes

Abstract: This paper describes an architecture model for multiagent systems that was developed in the European project LEAP (Lightweight Extensible Agent Platform). Its main feature is a set of generic services that are implemented independently of the agents and can be installed into the agents by the application developer in a flexible way. Moreover, two applications using this architecture model are described that were also developed within the LEAP project. The application domain is the support of mobile, virtual te… Show more

“…However, it does not fully considered a method of the policy application is changed by situations and user movements to solving the policy problems in a dynamic environments. Recent researches on Multi agent system [6] [7] have focused on the technologies for enhancing the scalability and the adaptability according to the various environments through the agent classification and cooperation. Multi agent systems have been designed to support the adaptive services according to the situation of nearby people, hosts, and accessible devices, as well as to revolve conflicts by changes to such things over time.…”

“…We have been conducting investigations into the use of mobile devices (such as personal digital assistants) since our involvement in the EU IST Project LEAP: A Lightweight Extensible Agent Platform [7], which closed in mid-2002. A number of advanced prototypes that explore options for individual and team-based approaches to receiving, progressing and closing jobs in a mobile work environment have been built and evaluated.…”
