An efficient synthetic route, characterization and antimicrobial evaluation of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) Schiff base complexes

Abstract: ABSTRACT. The synthesis of Schiff base compound derived from 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde and o-phenylenediamine via solvent-assisted mechanochemical synthesis in the presence of a small amount of dimethylformamide as liquid-assisted solvent was reported. The Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) Schiff base complexes were synthesized and characterized by powder x-ray diffraction, infra-red spectroscopy, differential scanning colorimetry, thermogrametric analysis, energy dispersive X-ray analysis and CHNS/O mac… Show more

“…Our major findings in this work are that the dominant native defects in AlSb are aluminum interstitials, antimony anti-sites, and aluminum vacancies, depending on chemical environment and doping. Transition metals and rare element are the most important and studied compounds [14][15][16].…”

“…Synthetic research on complexes from ligands and transition metals have been of great interest to the chemists especially as the antimicrobial activity of the ligands (drugs) with transition metals plays important role in their complexation and their activity [1]. As many investigations have been carried out for both solution based and solid state synthesis of the ligands metal complexes as those by [2]; [3]; [4] and so on.…”
