Abstract:Cognitive radio technique improves spectrum utilization by allowing secondary users (SUs) to opportunistically exploit the authorized spectrum of primary users (PUs) to transmit their data. In order to avoid colliding with PU, SUs often sense the channel before transmission. As many secondary users are mobile devices, how to preserve energy consumption of the secondary users is considered in this paper. According to a defined utility function, SU dynamically schedules its actions, i.e., sensing, transmission o… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
