An environmentally friendly method for the enantioseparation and determination of benalaxyl in tobacco and soil by ultra‐performance convergence chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry

Abstract: For the purpose of chiral separation and determination of benalaxyl enantiomers in tobacco and soil, we developed a rapid, green, and sensitive method using ultra-performance convergence chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry. The samples were extracted and purified by the quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe method before injection. The baseline separation was obtained on a chiral column in 5 min with carbon dioxide and ethanol as mobile phase. Separation parameters were optimized for the bes… Show more

“…The composition of the chiral stationary phase (CSP) is the most important factor influencing chiral compound separation using HPLC. The polysaccharide‐derived CSP has been demonstrated to have a high potential for rapid chiral separation, with the two enantiomers of indoxacarb achieving baseline separation on Chiralpak AS‐H, Superchiral S‐OD and Chiralcel IG‐3 chiral columns 30‐32 . However, reports on the separation of DCJW on any chiral CSP do not exist.…”

“…The polysaccharide-derived CSP has been demonstrated to have a high potential for rapid chiral separation, with the two enantiomers of indoxacarb achieving baseline separation on Chiralpak AS-H, Superchiral S-OD and Chiralcel IG-3 chiral columns. [30][31][32] However, reports on the separation of DCJW on any chiral CSP do not exist. In this study, we used five polysaccharide-based CSPs (Superchiral S-OD, Chiralpak IH-3, Chiralpak IC, Chiralpak IB and Chiralpak IA) to separate the enantiomers of indoxacarb and DCJW under reversed-phase conditions.…”

“…Because SFC uses low viscosity carbon dioxide as the primary mobile phase, it provides higher operating flow rates and faster analysis speeds than HPLC. SFC combined with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) provides high sensitivity and specificity analysis of complex matrices in a limited time . These advantages have made SFC the preferred instrumental approach for chiral enantiomers analysis.…”
