Ensuring RPA (robotic process automation) security is a critical aspect when developing and operating automated software robots. One of the key steps for developing secure software robots is the design stage: the identification and specification of the requirements for the security of the system, the description of system precedents, the interaction between the classes involved in the robot being created, etc. Designs using security-oriented formal modeling languages, such as the UMLsec extension of UML, involve not only a visual representation of diagrams but also the possibility to focus the attention on security issues. However, currently, in the scientific community, there is no possibility of using stereotypes specialized for robots—a mechanism for expanding the unified modeling language that would explicitly reflect a specific problem in the subject area. In this article, we propose that the UMLRPAsec-extension for RPA can be used to model security in the RPA context.

It is crucial for business organizations to be competitive in this rapid change and intense market. Therefore, technology is an inevitable factor for business operations to maintain their competitiveness, especially when information plays a very important role in management decision. Accounting software is an important tool for management to efficiently gather information in time of making decisions, determine business strategy and response quickly to the market. However, accounting software available in the market is costly which means small businesses will most likely not able to afford it. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop a digital accounting system that processes and stores accounting database on a cloud system. This development is an alternative option for all kinds of businesses--SMEs to big firms--to be able to access and use an online digital accounting system on a cloud-computing service (hereafter, "DAC"). The authors used the Waterfall development model through the requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance as the method of developing this accounting application. This research has gathered information from users (SMEs), professors, lecturers, teachers and accounting instructors as a focus group. PHP language was used to develop the system and MySQL was used to store the database. The analytical and system design instruments are Use Case Diagram, Algorithm, Flowchart and ER-Diagram. After SMEs and other businesses had free access and used the developed DAC, they experienced time savings and achieved greater accuracy of accounting entries when compared with manual accounting systems. It was also found that when compared with other accounting software's available in the market as of now, DAC costs less while offering the benefits of financial planning to its users. Therefore, DAC may become a new route of all kinds of businesses to achieve their goal or at least maintain their competitiveness in the market.

This paper designs and implements an energy management system based on the Spring Boot framework. The system mainly includes three layers, which are the data collection layer, the business logic layer, and the display interface layer from bottom to top. The data collection layer is based on the RS-485 electrical standard and the MODBUS communication protocol. The two protocols connect all energy consumption monitoring points into a mixed topology communication network in the enterprise. The programs in the data collection layer poll each energy consumption monitoring point in the network to collect the data and transmit to the business logic layer. The business logic layer is developed on the basis of the Spring Boot framework and mainly includes two parts: the MySQL database and Tomcat server. In the MySQL database, the stored data are horizontally split according to the time column and stored in different data tables. The split of data reduces the load of a single data table and improves the query performance of the database. The Tomcat server is built into the Spring Boot framework to provide a basic environment for system operation. The Spring Boot framework is the core component of the system. It is responsible for collecting, storing, and analyzing data from energy consumption monitoring points, receiving and processing data requests from the display interface layer. It also provides standard data interfaces to the external programs. The display interface layer is developed on the basis of the Vue framework and integrated into the Spring Boot framework. The display layer combines an open-source visualization chart library called ECharts to provide users with a fully functional and friendly human–computer interaction interface. Through the calculation of hardware and software costs, considering the personnel cost in different regions, the total cost of the energy management system can be estimated. The cost of construction was approximately 210,000 USD in this paper. Since the system was actually deployed in a manufacturing company in December 2019, it has been operating stably for more than 600 days.
