An experimental study on mechanical behavior of nylon fabric laminated rubber bearings

Abstract: Five samples of the nylon fabric laminated rubber bearing were manufactured with different rubber layer thickness and nylon cloth specifications. The compression and compression shear tests were conducted to evaluate the mechanical properties of the bearings. Results show the novel bearings’ vertical stiffness is significantly lower than that of laminated steel rubber bearings, but their vertical damping ratio can reach 7%.
