An explicit example of polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle with a dense point spectrum generated by a geometric distribution
Alexei Zhedanov
Abstract:We present a new explicit family of polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle with a dense point spectrum. This family is expressed in terms of q-hypergeometric function of type 2 φ 1 . The orthogonality measure is the wrapped geometric distribution. Some "classical" properties of the above polynomials are presented.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
