An Implementation of High Efficient Smart Street Light Management System for Smart City

Abstract: Street light are among the most common infrastructure in cities. Street lights and sensors can be combined to generate an interface of data collection. The analysis of massive data serves as an integral element of a smart city. This paper proposes a highly efficient system for the configuration, deployment, and management of smart street lights. The features of fast deployment and high scalability of the container-based system management result in virtual deployment. Additionally, for database design, NoSQL an… Show more

“…A street lighting management system that consisted of one web-based cloud management platform, one set of edge devices (a single-board computer, a microcontroller, sensors, and an IP camera), and a real-time lighting control function was proposed [32]. It was also proposed to extract travel parameters from the signatures of received signal strengths that stem from the behaviors of vehicles and pedestrians moving on the road, and dimming street lights accordingly [33].…”

“…Traditional street lamp control methods such as manual, induction, and timing control are low in intelligence and cannot meet the requires of modern urban construction. With the rapid development of communication and microelectronics technology, intelligent streetlight system with Internet of Things [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] has gradually become the most potential research field, such as using wireless network technology like ZigBee to monitor the status of street lamps and to detect traffic flow and environment.…”
