Abstract:We showed that heart rate > 70 b.p.m. measured using automated office blood pressure measurement (AOBPM) is related to increased risk of cardiovascular events both in subjects with and without prior diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. When AOBPM is used to estimate heart rate, increase of cardiovascular events risk is observed at lower heart rate values than currently suggested.
