An Innovative Hybrid Heap-Based and Jellyfish Search Algorithm for Combined Heat and Power Economic Dispatch in Electrical Grids

Abstract: This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm that combines two prominent nature-inspired meta-heuristic strategies to solve the combined heat and power (CHP) economic dispatch. In this line, an innovative hybrid heap-based and jellyfish search algorithm (HBJSA) is developed to enhance the performance of two recent algorithms: heap-based algorithm (HBA) and jellyfish search algorithm (JSA). The proposed hybrid HBJSA seeks to make use of the explorative features of HBA and the exploitative features of the JSA to overc… Show more

“…As shown, the null hypothesis is constantly disproved, and the possibility of a p-value is consistently very small at 5.37112 × 10 −67 . 9 contrasts the proposed TLSBA's results with those of other contemporary optimization schemes such as MRFO [42], IMPA [23], WOA [49], HT [19], WVO [55], WVO-PSO [55], PSO-TVAC [56] and HT-JFSO [25,57], with the optimal generation cost adopting the suggested approach. This table shows that the proposed TLSBA has the lowest cost and achieves the highest performance among the various optimizers.…”

“…Ginidi et al 58 proposed a heap-based jellyfish search optimizer (HBJSO) to enhance the performance of two recently developed algorithms: the heap-based optimizer (HBO) and JSO. The proposed hybrid HBJSO seeks to make use of the explorative features of HBO and the exploitative features of JSO to overcome some of the issues associated with their standard forms.…”

“…Despite that, only the fuel costs of the committed DGs were handled where the quadratic cost models were utilized for the fuel cells and the micro turbines. In [18], a manta ray foraging optimizer was developed to optimally solve the economic dispatch problem with wind power inclusion considering the valve point effects of the generators, while the wind power effects were ignored in [19,20]. However, the environmental impacts of this operation were not considered.…”
