An Innovative Multifunctional Buoy Design for Monitoring Continuous Environmental Dynamics at Tianjin Port

Abstract: The Tianjin port plays a relevant role in driving both ship navigation and the weather and climate of the area. To better understand the underlying peculiarities of this area, several in-service coastal ocean system and facilities have been constructed, at present, the whole coastal ocean systems at Tianjin port have been improved, however, they cannot meet the safety requirements of traffic management and navigational safety. Marine buoys have the unreplaceable advantages of long-term, real-time, reliable cap… Show more

“…The effect of the wave environment on the photovoltaic system cannot be ignored. Zhang Hao et al [9] designed a PV power supply system for the buoy with a maximum power consumption of 0.028 kWh per day, using four PV panels with a rated power of 100 W. However, they did not calculate the power generation of each unit in detail, nor did they consider the influence of the installation angles. Tomisa et al [10] used two sets of PV modules placed horizontally and vertically, respectively, to power the buoy.…”

“…Among them, Figure 6a shows the data resource management, Figure 6b shows the data acquisition management, Figure 6c shows the data conversion management and Figure 6d shows the data fusion management. At the same time, the system provides users with information services such as ships, waterways, hydrometeorology and multifunctional buoys [40], as shown in Figure 7. More specifically, Figure 7a shows the data dictionary maintenance, Figure 7b shows the release mode management, Figure 7c shows the published data definition and Figure 7d shows the service publication status.…”

“…It is worth noting that the traditional fixed-point sampling monitoring method has limitations in the global perception of port water quality. The flexibility and customizability of the system are relatively poor [10].…”
