An integrated approach for road, transit design in a city logistic plan: a case study

Abstract: In this paper, an integrated network and transit route design problem is analysed. A two-step design approach is proposed: first a trial transit route is designed using a greedy algorithm, second the road network is optimized taking into account, in the objective function, also of the route cost for freight. At the end of procedure, also the vehicle routing problem for city logistic distribution is designed using optimized road network and the reserved lanes for bus.
