An integrated voice analyzer for evaluating pathological voice

Abstract: We have developed an integrated voice analyzer (IVA) using DSP (TMS32010) to achieve high-speed acoustic analyses of a sustained vowel. A personal computer connected to the IVA is employed as the man-machine interface as well as to display and save various analysis results. The IVA has many functions, such as detecting vocal noise by an adaptive comb filter, measuring period and amplitude perturbation quotients, calculating DFT spectra and LPC coefficients, etc. The results are stored into a disk file to do st… Show more

“…Pa tients' voices were recorded on a tape and the taperecorded voice samples were acoustically analyzed. In the present study, the sustained vowel /e/ was ana lyzed by means of the Voice Evaluation System SH-10 (Rion) that was originally developed by Kasuya et al [8] and Kikuchi et al [9]. With this system, the pitch period perturbation quotient (PPQ).…”

“…12,13 MPT and MFRc were measured with the use of the Nagashima PS 77H (Nagashima Medical Instruments Co, Ltd, Tokyo, Japan), 13 and PPQ, APQ, and NNEa were measured with the use of the Rion SH 10 voice analyzer (Rion Co, Ltd, Tokyo, Japan). 12 MPT decreased after the laterofixation and further decreased after the laser surgery. MFRc increased slightly after the laterofixation and further increased after the laser surgery.…”
