An Interference Mitigation Scheme of Device-to-Device Communications for Sensor Networks Underlying LTE-A

Abstract: Device-to-Device (D2D) communication technology has become a key factor in wireless sensor networks to form autonomous communication links among sensor nodes. Many research results for D2D have been presented to resolve different technical issues of D2D. Nevertheless, the previous works have not resolved the shortage of data rate and limited coverage of wireless sensor networks. Due to bandwidth shortages and limited communication coverage, 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has introduced a new Device-… Show more

“…To overcome the pros and cons of centralised and distributed methods, a hybrid interference control approach is popularly used. The interference between cellular users and D2D users can be overcome by using interference management schemes [ 98 , 99 , 100 , 101 , 102 , 103 , 104 , 105 , 106 , 107 ].…”

“…In Ref. [ 106 ], a fractional frequency reuse and a blank sub-frame concept were used to avoid interference between the CUEs and DUEs. The numerical results show that the interference level of the DUEs decreased as compared to the conventional methods.…”

“…We focus on a D2D WMSN with a cellular link and a D2D link as shown in Figure 1 . There are two types of D2D links: overlaying and underlaying types [ 20 , 21 ]. The overlaying system is one in which a fraction of frequency resources is allocated to the D2D link.…”
