An Ontology Driven, Procedural Reasoning System-Like Agent Model, For Multi-Agent Based Mobile Workforce Brokering Systems

Abstract: Problem statement: It has been proven that Believe, Desire, Intention (BDI) agent architecture, performs suitably in dynamic and unpredictable environments. Although BDI architecture has been formulated rigorously, implementing BDI architecture is not as straightforward as it has been promised. Nevertheless, the preeminent implementation of BDI architecture is Procedural Reasoning System (PRS) and Jadex is a Java-based platform that successfully applies PRS BDI architecture to implement BDI agents. However, Ja… Show more

“…Therefore, MWBS in each work period goes through two main phases; Initial phase and RunTime phase. The latter is described in details in (Mousavi et al, 2010a;2010b;2010c) and the former is the subject of this article.…”

“…In our previous studies (Mousavi et al, 2010a;2010b;2010c;Mousavi and Nordin, 2007) an ontology-driven and multiagent-based Mobile Workforce Brokering System (MWBS) has been proposed. Basically, MWBS is an automated system that automatically assigns tasks to a set of MWs according to a prescheduled plan.…”

“…OWL is an ontology language that introduced by OWL working group as a World Wide Web Consortium recommendation (W3C, 2004). It represents the meaning of classes (concepts) and the relationships between those classes (Mousavi et al, 2010). In our approach the relationships are very important in order to determine the semantic of the messages elements.…”

“…In our early work (Mousavi et al, 2010b) we proposed a framework for MWBS. In this framework, the life time of MWBS is divided into two phases: Initialization phase and Run-time phase.…”

“…Managing HR risks is important because firstly, workforces are the key players in every organization and secondly, any disruption in task performance caused by HR risks will have negative impact on overall performance of the companies in which they are employed. Similarly, in the context of an automated Mobile Workforce Brokering System (MWBS) (Mousavi et al, 2010a;2010b;Mousavi and Nordin, 2007;Mousavi et al, 2011), where task allocation has to follow a prescheduled pattern, any unexpected or unplanned unavailability of Mobile Workforces (MW) will cause reduction in overall performance of their corresponding organization.…”
