Abstract:The use of boundary elements in the analysis of exterior acoustic problems poses challenges at specific frequencies, since fictitious eigenfrequencies may arise at the internal resonances of cavities, leading to inaccurate results or even unstable behavior. To filter out these fictitious eigenfrequencies, a scheme based on the combined Helmholtz integral equation formulation (CHIEF) can be used to prevent the so-called non-uniqueness problem, although it requires additional equations and points. The BEM formul… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
