An overview of consensus problems in constrained multi-agent coordination

Abstract: In recent years, multi-agent coordination has gained significant development in theoretical research in parallel with the increasing attention in the practical applications of such systems in various areas including consensus. This paper presents a survey of recent research in consensus problems for constrained multi-agent coordination. We first focus on theoretical directions of multi-agent systems paying particular attention from the system dynamics and control algorithms perspective. Then we present several… Show more

“…To begin with, we mention four survey papers [59,48,49,66] on consensus and cooperation in networked MASs, which complement this work. In [48], a theoretical framework for consensus analysis of networked MASs with an emphasis on directed graph and robustness to switching network topologies and communication delays was presented.…”

“…Then, coupling communication delays during information exchanged among agents were considered. In [66], recent research in consensus problems for constrained multi-agent coordination were discussed. By constrained multi-agent coordination, it was referred to the study of consensus problems when the system dynamics were constrained, such as saturated/bounded, or with constrained consensus algorithms.…”

“…Since there is no fusion center in a distributed fashion, it gives rise to the requirement for consensus among individual filter nodes to achieve a collective state estimate. Speaking of consensus, which is a study dedicated to ensuring an agreement on the information states of individuals [14], the interested readers please refer to [14]- [17] for more details. During the past two decades, theories and applications of consensus are growing rapidly in these areas [5], [9], [12]- [24].…”

“…In the past decade, distributed tracking control (DTC) of a group of mobile agents has attracted researchers' attention due to its wide applications in many fields including formation control, leader-follower problem, target tracking, flocking, intelligent transportation and so on (Fang, Wei, Chen, & Xin, 2017;Hong, Yu, Yu, Wen, & Alsaedi, 2017;Miao, Wang, & Fierro, 2017;Miranbeigi, Moshiri, & Rahimi Kian, 2016;Tian, Zuo, & Wang, 2017;Wang, Gao, Alsaadi, & Hayat, 2014;Yu, Yan, & Li, 2017;Zhao & Jia, 2016). DTC of multiagent systems includes two aspects of control and estimation.…”
