The users from all localities of the world have given more opportunity to share information with each other. The diverse accessibility of information through various services is useful for developing technologies. These technologies enable the user to share the various variant format of information. In the information sharing, images are observed to be more informative due to its content presence of visualization. The Flickr is an image sharing social website. It allows users to share an image with others for social interaction. The users of the Flickr can assign tags to the images. These tags are used for indexing, organization, and searching of the images. Since tags are assigned by the users, there is a semantic gap between the tags and the actual content of the images. A misclassification or nonrelevancy is observed in retrieval when these tags are not properly assigned. This may affect the performance of the image retrieval system and poses new challenges to the image retrieval research community. In this article, we propose techniques for image tag recommendation.
