Abstract:Endometriosis is a benign, estrogen-dependent condition, usually occurring in menstruating and, rarely, in postmenopausal women, in which endometrial glands and stroma grow ectopically outside the uterus. Most often, ectopic endometrial tissue is found within the pelvis and nearby structures.
