“…As for compounds which had low content, especially Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Rehmanniae Radix, and Poria, or were difficult to be completely separated, we used LC-MS/MS to quantify them. The candidate ingredients were chosen based on the references of pertinent herbs, including the following 14 chemical components: XS and XZ from the minister medicine of Xanthii fructus [ 21 ]; JA and JB from the minister medicine of Ziziphi Spinosae Semen [ 22 ]; MPA from the minister medicine of Ophiopogonis Radix [ 23 ]; RD from the minister medicine of Rehmanniae Radix [ 24 ]; GRF, GRG, GRR, and GRB from the minister medicine of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma [ 25 ]; DA, PAC, and ATA from the adjuvants medicine of Poria [ 26 ]; and PX from adjuvants medicine of the guide medicine of Polygalae Radix [ 27 ]. The chemical structures of the 25 compounds are shown in Figure S5 .…”

“…Determination of PA (12.3 mg/kg) in rats after oral administration using UPLC-Q-Orbi-trap MS demonstrated that the pharmacokinetic parameters were terminal half-life at 11.51±9.90 h, AUC 0-∞ at 336.29±161.99 ng h/ml and CL at 45.07±73.64 L/h. PA is mainly distributed in the intestine and stomach and is considered to be further converted into other molecules in vivo ( 91 ). In addition, treatment of human liver microsomes with PA (100 µ M) demonstrated that PA inhibits cytochrome P450 (CYP)3A4, 2E1 and 2C9, with IC 50 values of 15.04, 27.95 and 24.22 µ M, respectively, indicating potential drug-drug interactions ( 92 ).…”

“…In the 2020 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, there are 1587 kinds of prescription preparations and single preparation, 260 of which contain Poria cocos , accounting for 16%. In addition, Poria cocos is also widely used as food [ 9 10 11 12 ]. Modern pharmacological research shows that the polysaccharides isolated from Poria cocos have many biological activities, including anti-tumor [ 13 ], anti-inflammatory [ 14 ], liver protection [ 9 ], and immunity enhancement [ 15 , 16 ], especially antioxidant effects [ 17 ].…”
