Anaesthesia risks for non-cardiac procedures in cardiac patients

Abstract: The number of patients with complex congenital heart disease (CHD) presenting for non-cardiac procedures is steadily increasing and more and more anaesthesiologists will be asked to participate in their care. This can be a very challenging task and will require adequate planning and preparation, but also some basic scientific inquiries.
