Identification of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Sectors in Mitigating Income Inequality in the Former Residencies of Madiun

Development is a long-term process of change to improve regional welfare. The regional economic development indicator is GRDP. The former Madiun residencies have the lowest average of GRDP. Accordingly, the economic development activities and effort to mitigate income inequality should be carried out properly. Using MRT, Williamson Index, and Shift Share analysis, the research results on agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors of the former Madiun residencies include the basic and non-basic sectors. The basic-sector former residencies of Madiun include the regencies of Pacitan, Ponorogo, Madiun, Magetan, and Ngawi. Meanwhile, the non-basic sector ex-residence is the City of Madiun. The results of the Williamson Index show that the agricultural sector has a role in reducing income inequality. The IW value of ex-residencies with the agricultural sector has an average of 0.39, and the one without the agricultural sector is 0.53. As for the shift-share, the results show that the national share component of all sub-sectors is positive, meaning that sub-sector is experiencing growth. The industrial mix of all sub-sectors is negative (IM<0), meaning that sub-sector growth in former Madiun residencies is slow. The competitive share has positive value (CS>0), meaning that it has good sub-sector competitiveness and can develop.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the advantages of plantation commodities in Jambi Province. Shift-Share Analysis and Location Quotient Analysis were used to analyze data. The research results conclude several things. First, there are the comparative advantages of oil palm and rubber throughout Jambi. Second, rubber and palm oil in the commodity base sector in Kerinci, Merangin, Batang Hari, Bungo; coffee and cinnamon are the base sectors in Kerinci, Merangin, Sorolangun; and, chocolate in Bungo and Kerinci. Third, palm oil and rubber are dominant and their growth potential in all areas in Jambi; coffee, cinnamon, cocoa plantations are dominant and their growth potential are in Kerinci, Merangin, Bungo; and, clove, coconut, areca nut, candlenut, kapok, sugar palm, vanilla, sugar cane, patchouli are less developed. Finally, there are three clusters oriented towards ease of market access, proximity of raw materials and availability of labor.

Potential Analysis of Leading Economic Sector in Economic Development in Nganjuk Regency

This research aims to analyze the leading economic sectors that can support economic development in Nganjuk Regency, the base and non-base sectors, the changing and shifting sectors, and the classification of growth sectors in order to determine the leading sectors in Nganjuk Regency. Gross Domestic Regional Product by Business Field Based on Constant Price in 2018-2021 in Nganjuk Regency and East Java is utilized in this study. The information is obtained from Statistics Indonesia. This study employs a descriptive quantitative methodology. This research utilizes Location Quotient, Shift Share, and Typology Klassen for analysis. Location Quotient has determined that there are eight base sectors and nine non-base sectors. The base sectors are also the leading economic sector in Nganjuk Regency's economic development. In addition, according to the results of Shift Share, fifteen economic sectors have positive growth. In addition, there are nine sectors with a progressive growth rate. The result of Typology Klassen is the division of seventeen economic sectors into four quadrants. There are three sectors in the first quadrant, seven sectors in the second quadrant, five sectors in the third quadrant, and two sectors in the fourth quadrant. Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management, and Remediation Activities are the leading economic sector according to all of the research's analysis methods. This sector is a base sector, has a positive percentage in each component of Shift Share and a positive Shift Share value, and is located in Quadrant I of the Typology Klassen.
