Abstract:This paper presents the analysis of a conformal rectangular microstrip antenna loaded with human tissue, for microwave hyperthermia applications using the Finite-Difference TimeDomain (FDTD) in cylindrical coordinates. FDTD is used in order to calculate the reflection coefficient and the near electromagnetic fields radiated by the microstrip antenna. Then the specific absorption rate (SAR) is calculated within a biological tissue; SAR is directly related to the temperature distribution within tumor masses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
