“…On the basis of the form of the heat supply, the thermal stimulation methods can be partitioned into traditional injection methods of thermal fluid (warm gas, steam, , hot water, , hot brine, , etc.) and in-situ heating methods (electric heating, self-heating system, in-situ combustion, etc.) through reference to the conventional process of oil-gas exploitation.…”

“…In conclusion, the injection method of thermal fluid, a sort of traditional thermal stimulation method, cannot overcome such problems of high heat loss in the pipe/well and HBS, the small heating area limited by the low thermal conductivity of HBS, and low initial injectivity of fluids (or high resistance of the HBS to injected fluids) especially for HBS with ultralow permeability or without an underlying free phase layer. , Interestingly, at the very early period of injecting thermal fluid, the NGH reformation may still be observed at the fluid injection front (also known as the NGH dissociation front) before NGH dissociation by thermal stimulation, , which is attributed to the sharp increase in pressure mainly when a high injection rate is applied . Therefore, the NGH reformation still needs to be focused on during production via the traditional injection method of thermal fluid.…”
