Analysis of Nonlinear Effective Absorption Coefficient of Double Cladding Fiber

Abstract: Nonlinearity characteristic of pump light absorption for rare-earth-doped double cladding fiber is analyzed. The characterized nonlinear effective absorption coefficient is integrated into the high power fiber laser model and numerical analysis is conducted to evaluate this new model. Our proposed model is applicable for CW fiber laser with any cavity length and any inner cladding shape design.
