Analysis of the bubble-pulsation process of underwater high current pulsed discharge

Abstract: The bubble of underwater high current pulsed discharge forms after the pre-breakdown process, and the change in electrical loop parameters will affect its pulsation characteristics. The relationship between loop electrical parameters and the bubble-pulsation process is unclear, and its influence on the acoustic characteristics of the bubble-pulsation is not apparent. In order to quantitatively analyze the bubble-pulsation characteristics, a comprehensive experimental platform of underwater high current pulsed … Show more

“…The value of the resistance component of the plasma channel in the solid is about a few ohms [11,20], while the inductive component of the spark plasma impedance accounts for less than 20% and is usually ignored [21]. Therefore, compared with the external loop inductance L 0 and the resistance component R pl (t) of the plasma channel, the proportion of the channel inductance L pl (t) is small and can be ignored [22], so equation (1) can be simplified as…”

“…When the electrode discharges in gas, the high voltage directly breaks through the gas to form a plasma channel. In the process of pulsed arc electrohydraulic discharge, there are both the collision ionization of charged particles and the expansion and development of hot bubbles, and the electron avalanche develops along the bubble holes [30][31][32], and finally completes the whole process of pulsed electrohydraulic discharge.…”
