Abstract:Chirping Alfvén modes are considered as potentially harmful for the confinement of energetic particles in burning Tokamak plasmas because of their capability, by modifying their frequency, of extracting as much power as possible from such particles and, in turn, enhancing their transport. In this paper, the nonlinear evolution of a single-toroidal-number chirping mode is analysed by numerical particle simulation. This analysis can be simplified if the different resonant phase-space structures can be investigate… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
