Abstract:The present article aims to explore three dimensional Rayleigh-type waves in a layered structure composed of transversely isotropic material. The technique of potential function is utilized to solve the problem. With the aid of appropriate boundary conditions, a dispersion relation (illustrating variation of velocity with frequency) is established for the three dimensional Rayleigh-type waves which depends on the elastic constants. It is worth mentioning that the deduced results are found to be in well agreeme… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
