Abstract:An inerter‐based dynamic vibration absorber (IDVA) is proposed and applied to suppress the vibration of a plate. The dynamic model of a thin rectangular plate attached with an IDVA is established and the frequency response function of the transverse displacement of the plate is derived through the classical vibration theory and the analysis in the domain.
