Aneurinibacillus soli sp. nov., isolated from mountain soil

Abstract: A novel bacterial strain designated CB4 T was isolated from soil from the Hallasan, Jeju, Korea. Strain CB4 T was found to be strictly aerobic, Gram-stain-positive, rod-shaped, motile and formed creamy greyish colonies on nutrient agar. The major fatty acids were identified as iso-C 15 : 0 and iso-C 16 : 0 , and the predominant isoprenoid quinone as MK-7. The cell-wall peptidoglycan contained glycine and alanine as the diagnostic amino acids and phosphatidyl-Nmethylethanolamine, phosphatidylethanolamine, dipho… Show more

“…isolates were pre-cultured in broth at 30 ± 2°C for 48 hours in peptic dextrose broth while Aneurinibacillus sp. isolates were pre-cultured at 50 ± 2°C for 24 hours in tryptic soy broth as previously described (Zu et al, 2014;Lee et al, 2014). The pre-cultured bacteria was further used for growth curve plotting.…”

“…Menaquinone 7 is the predominant respiratory quinone [2]. At the time of writing, eight species have been described in the genus Aneurinibacillus with validly published names (Aneurinibacillus aneurinilyticus, Aneurinibacillus danicus, Aneurinibacillus migulanus, Aneurinibacillus sediminis, Aneurinibacillus soli, Aneurinibacillus thermoaerophilus, Aneurinibacillus terranovensis, and Aneurinibacillus tyrosinisolvens) [1,[13][14][15][16][17][18][19] and one more species 'Aneurinibacillus humi ' is not yet validly published [20]. They have been reported from diverse habitats such as soils, sediment, and human faeces.…”

“…[5] The genus Aneurinibacillus was suggested as a new genera of bacteria based on the reclassification of the Bacillus aneurinolyticus and related members of the Bacillus genus [6]. Bacteria belonging to the genus Aneurinibacillus are Gram-positive, endospore-forming, and rod-shaped bacteria, and have been reported from diverse habitats [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]. At the time of writing, the list of prokaryotic names with standing in nomenclature (LPSN) [14] database comprises eight validly named species of the genus Aneurinibacillus.…”
