Ankaferd Blood Stopper: Does it have a role in fracture healing?

Abstract: High-pressure and ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks crop out widely in the northern Aegean. In many instances their ages and tectonic setting are poorly constrained. Here we report newly discovered high-pressure rocks of continental crustal origin and of Late Cretaceous age southwest of the Marmara Sea. Th ey occur at the contact between the Rhodope-Strandja Zone in the north and the Sakarya Zone in the south.Th e Kemer Metamorphic Complex is composed mainly of mica schist, calcschist and marble with minor … Show more

“…A statistically significant difference between the ABS and control groups indicates that ABS is effective both in early and late bone healing. This is not consistent with the studies of Şimşek et al (24) and Günay et al (28). In our study, histologic scores of nondiabetic rats on day 56 were compared.…”

“…Furthermore, in a sheep tibial osteotomy model, when fracture haematomas were removed at 4 and 7 days, the result was a significant delay of early fracture healing (Peters and Duda, ). These findings are clear indications that a stable haematoma is crucial for initial bone healing (Günay et al ., ; Van der Ende et al ., ).…”

“…Similarly, delayed bone healing ensued when the hematomas in open osteotomies in the middle tibia of rabbits were repeatedly removed by irrigation and debridement (Park et al, 2002). These and similar findings indicate that stable hematomas are crucial for initial bone healing (GÜNAY et al, 2013;Van der Ende et al, 2013).…”
