Annual dispatch strategy of integrated power systems with large-scale cascade hydropower

Abstract

With the increasing penetration of renewable energy, flexible hydropower is regarded as an effective regulating source for power dispatch. The optimal coordinated operation of hydropower and other energy is becoming more important for power systems. By compromising practical feasibility and calculation accuracy, an annual dispatch strategy based on a two-stage optimization model is proposed in this paper. The model is formulated overall and simulated in a provincial hydrodominated power system. The results show that the method can efficiently schedule the power generation of multiple power sources and the operation dispatch of reservoirs and units.
