Anonymous Hierarchical Identity-Based Encryption with Constant Size Ciphertexts

Abstract: We propose an anonymous Hierarchical Identity-Based Encryption (anonymous HIBE) scheme that has constant size ciphertexts. This means the size of the ciphertext does not depend on the depth of the hierarchy. Moreover, our scheme achieves the lowest computational cost because during the decryption phase the computational cost of decryption is constant. The security can be proven under reasonable assumptions without using random oracles because it is based on the composite order bilinear group. Our scheme achiev… Show more

“…Thus, our HVE scheme provides a new anonymous IBE scheme that is fully secure under standard assumptions such as the DLIN and DBDH assumptions. Prior to our result, several works [9,20,12,42,16,2,17] (including all previous HVE and IPE schemes) have been proposed, but until now there were few anonymous IBE schemes [20,30,35] that achieve full security without using random oracles. Our new scheme is another example, but is fully secure under the standard assumptions.…”

“…Hierarchical Identity Based Encryption (HIBE) [11,24,10] is a form of Identity Based Encryption (IBE) for hierarchical structures. IBE allows a sender to encrypt messages based on a receiver's identity, such as an e-mail address, before the receiver gets a secret decryption key from a Key Generation Center (KGC).…”

“…In order to solve this problem, the notion of Hierarchical Identity-Based Encryption (HIBE) was proposed [30] and then many HIBE schemes were proposed [31,32]. What is more, many anonymous HIBE schemes were proposed [33][34][35][36] where the ciphertext does not leak the identity of the recipient. However, their sizes of private keys and ciphertexts increase with the depth of identity hierarchy.…”
