Abstract: Figure 1 depicts an endocervical epithelial cell with cytopathic effects typical of cytomegalovirus (CMV). This characteristic morphology resulting from CMV infection may be seen in nearly every tissue type, including the lungs, central nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, and genital tract.
