Antioxidants, Polymers

Abstract: Organic matter is subject to decomposition, particularly through reaction with oxygen. This leads to several reactive secondary products such as hydroperoxides and peroxy and alkoxy radicals. Antioxidants are used to slow down oxidative degradation by reacting with these reactive intermediates.
