Abstract: Multijunction vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) have gained popularity in automotive LiDARs, yet achieving a divergence of less than 16° (D86) is difficult for conventional extended cavity designs due to multiple-longitudinal-mode lasing.
