Application of Loose Blasting in Fully-Mechanized Coal Face Crossing Faults

Abstract: Loose blasting technology is applied to the problem of fully mechanized coal face passing through fault. The paper gets safe and practical loose blasting parameters and blasting process, achieves no re-open-off cut for the fully mechanized coal face, reduces loss of coal pillars for faults and improves the coal recovery rate. At last, the goal of high yield, steady yield, and increasing yield for fully mechanized mining face is realized.

“…Permeability enhancement is currently the most effective and economical gas drainage technology. Scholars have proposed measures such as presplitting blasting 8 , hydraulic fracturing 9 , liquid CO 2 fracturing 10 , and loose blasting 11 , 12 for improving permeability enhancement. Loose blasting is most widely used among them.…”

“…Loose blasting is most widely used among them. e conventional blasting technology often encounters the difficult problem that the coal seam fracture development is not good or the coal pulverization is serious [6]. In order to improve the utilization rate of explosive, the cumulative blasting technology is proposed.…”

“…The mining industry, especially the open-pit mining, are encountering many challenges, such as the proper waste disposal and improvement in efficiency [1]- [4]. Loose blasting to break coal and rock is one of the important ways of efficient mining in open pit coal mine [5]. In the mining process, fragmentation of coal and rock is an important index for evaluating blasting effect.…”
