Multi-phase flows exist in industry extensively. The flows of the media produce all kinds of processes and change them constantly and profoundly, which has a great influence on product quality, cost and safety to make the process monitoring and control very important. Optical fiber process tomography (OFPT), however, is a new method to realize the detection of the flow process and has gained much attention in recent years. Compared with other tomography technologies such as capacitance, microwave and impedance ones, OFPT use optical fiber sensors (OFS) as core elements to make it small, safe, free of electromagnetic interference and have high sensitivity in low-density medium case. Moreover, OFPT can detect the media information of the whole investigated plane simultaneously, which is difficult for the ordinary sensors. OFPT has many improvements in recent years both in its structure and design theory. In this paper, a sort of the novel OFPT structures is put forward. Compared with the original one, they have higher image-reconstructed resolution (the relative resolutions are 1.04%, 0.71%, 0.52%, 0.4%, 0.31% and 0.25%, respectively) and can also be used in the cylindrical space with circular planes owing to the circular symmetry.
