Application of Optimized SFCL and STATCOM for theTransient Stability and LVRTCapability Enhancement of Wind Farms

Abstract: In this paper, the combined superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) and STATCOM are used to improve transient stability and low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability of the wind turbine generation system (WTGS). The SFCL absorbs the accelerating energy of the generator, and therefore, improves the WTGS transient stability.
