Application of PSDM Imaging for Reservoir Characterisation in the Northern Malay Basin: A Case Study

Abstract: Seismic imaging in the northern Malay Basin frequently suffers due to the limitations imposed on Kirchoff Time Migration by the complexities of structure, lithology, stratigraphy and fluid effects that occur in the area (Reilly et al., 2008 and Gosh et al., 2010). A recent Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM) project not only enhanced the reservoir imaging, it enabled the production of amplitude preserved volumes that were used to improve reservoir characterisation studies for gas pay prediction. Reservoir charact… Show more

“…For representing a uniform permeability for shale gas reservoirs, several investigations were performed on apparent gas permeability for representing the gas flow in shale reservoirs. Several investigations on apparent gas permeability have been done for representing the flow of gas in the nanopores (Clarkson and Nobakht 2011, Clarkson et al 2012a, Clarkson and Williams 2012bMichel et al 2011;Civan et al 2011;Sakhaee-Pour and Bryant 2012;Javadpour et al 2007a, b;Javadpour 2009;Swami et al 2012, Swami et al 2013Fathi et al 2012). …”
