Application of Square Msplit Estimation in Determination of Vessel Position in Coastal Shipping

Abstract: The main aim of this paper is to assess the possibility of using non-conventional geodetic estimation methods in maritime navigation. The research subject of this paper concerns robust determination of vessel's position using a method of parameters estimation in the split functional model (M split estimation). The studies performed will help in finding out if and in which situations the application of M split estimation as the method for determining vessel's position is beneficial from the perspective of navig… Show more

“…The different variants of M split estimation have been applied in deformation analysis [127,128,133,[137][138][139][140][141][142], detection of unstable points in GNSS networks [143], processing laser scanning data [89,[144][145][146][147][148][149], direct identification of gross errors [150], S-transformation [151,152], robust coordinate transformation [153], linear regression analysis [128,133], and marine navigation [103,154].…”

“…In contrast, the photographic method can be applied to various environmental conditions and target types, including static and dynamic targets, and more data information can be obtained through image processing techniques, which can provide richer data support for subsequent analysis and evaluation [17]- [19].However, the accuracy of positioning is limited by weather and terrain conditions. The photography method requires sufficient shooting angles in order to localize the target.…”

“…According to Tichavska et al [13], this system supported to transport of goods effectively, this was shown via 1.4% of the goods that were increased each year. With this growth, the seaport system needed to solve the adaptability, optimize the activities in the seaport, and cut down on unnecessary activities [14] [15]. In addition, roads also play a role in receiving and distributing goods, and current studies on transport routing and route selection are also very important for seaports [16][17][18].…”
